4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills.

WHO WE ARE

4-H is the youth development organization of the University of Connecticut's Cooperative Extension System. Belonging to a nationwide educational network with the land grant universities and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 4-H has access to information needed to solve problems today and in the future.

The mission of 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills and forming attitudes which will enable them to become self directing, productive and contributing members of society.

The mission is carried out through the involvement of Volunteers and
4-H Program Staff who organize and conduct educational and project activities in a community or camp setting.
